Jamaican Singer OMI Joins Platinum Club

He is among the seven Jamaicans whose song cheerleader sold over one million copies in the United States. It is over 170,000 downloads in the past week to bring its total sales to over 1.1 million.Prior to the Digital era, Jamaicans in the US million-seller club included Shaggy, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Sean Paul, Ini Kamoze, Inner Circle and Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers.OMI is the first Jamaican to reach number two on the Billboard Hot 100 since Sean Paul's Temperature reached number one in 2006.
